  • 0

Pointing a Domain to a Hosting Server:

1. Obtain Your Hosting Server's Information:

  • IP Address: 173.249.54.190
  • Nameservers:
    • ns1.zauca.app
    • ns2.zauca.app

2. Access Your Domain Registrar's Control Panel:

  • Log in to the website where you registered your domain (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains, Hostinger).

3. Locate the DNS Management Section:

  • The exact location of this section varies depending on your registrar, but it's usually labeled something like "DNS Management," "DNS Records," or "Nameservers."

4. Choose Your Method:

  • Method 1: Using IP Addresses (A Records):
    • This method is suitable if your hosting provider gave you the IP address.
    • Look for the "A record" section.
    • Create or modify an "A record" for your root domain (often represented by "@" or left blank).
    • Enter 173.249.54.190 as the "Value" or "Points to."
    • If you want to point a subdomain like 'www.yourdomain.com' you will create another A record, and in the host field, you will enter 'www', and the value will be 173.249.54.190.
  • Method 2: Using Nameservers:
    • This method is recommended if your hosting provider gave you nameservers.
    • Look for the "Nameservers" section.
    • Change the nameservers to:
      • ns1.zauca.app
      • ns2.zauca.app
    • Save your changes. This option delegates all DNS control to the hosting provider. You will then, manage all DNS records from the hosting providers control panel.

5. Propagation:

  • After you've made the changes, it can take some time for them to propagate across the internet. This process, known as DNS propagation, can take anywhere from a few minutes to 48 hours, although it's usually much faster.

Example (Using A Records):

Let's say your domain is "example.com."

  1. Log in to your domain registrar.
  2. Go to DNS Management.
  3. Create an A record:
    • Host: @ (or leave blank)
    • Value: 173.249.54.190
  4. Create an A record for www:
    • Host: www
    • Value: 173.249.54.190
  5. Save your changes.

Example (Using Nameservers):

Let's say your hosting provider's nameservers are ns1.zauca.app and ns2.zauca.app.

  1. Log in to your domain registrar.
  2. Go to Nameservers.
  3. Change the nameservers to:
    • ns1.zauca.app
    • ns2.zauca.app
  4. Save your changes.
